Vision/Moodboard
Curated to provide my designers, producers, and cast a look into my brain for this particular production. I wished to take advantage of the fact that this is a site-specific piece and curate the space to be similar to that of a church support group meeting.
The show alternates between a space of biblical truth and living in the reality that these are individuals performing Jesus Christ Superstar while waiting for their meeting leader to arrive. I wanted to flip the expectation of what people think this show can be. Encouraging them to sit in the uncomfortable and unsettling nature of these events and the realizations these characters have.
Metatheatricality and Expressionism meets rag-tag community theatre.
